Platteville (KPVB)

Does the name Platteville ring a bell? If you are a Bears fan, you likely remember this as the home of Spring Training for 18 years. In 2001, the Bears moved their training camp to Bourbonnais, IL in order to seal the deal on the Soldier Field improvements. Perhaps that training camp explains why this rural town has an airport with two very nice sized runways.

The airport offers an airport car (actually a van) for your trip into town. Just ask at the front desk for the keys. Take a left out of the airport to get into town. Main street has a number of small shops and places to eat.

The City of Platteville also has a website with local events and more information.

Runway: 15/33 Paved 4000 ft., 7/25 Paved 3600 ft.
Fuel: Yes
