A turn-of-the-century mansion built by millionaire railroad industrialist John H. Barker is just a short drive away. The home features art objects, original furnishings, and rare woods. Michigan City is also a popular shopping destination. Right behind the Barker mansion is Lighthouse Place. Here you can visit over 120 outlet stores offering many popular brands at attractive prices. Also try the quaint downtown area (between the airport and the mansion) for some antiquing.
