Dupage (KDPA)

Open only on weekdays, the Kitty Hawk Cafe (630-208-6189) gives you a taste of what it's like to have your own jet. Settle into a comfy leather seat or take a table near the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the tarmac. The Kitty Hawk provides catering to many of the business jets that come in. You can sample those same meals on the ground. You won't even be charged a ramp fee for your single-engine piston aircraft.

Dupage Airport is also a short drive from St. Charles with its quaint downtown full of antique shops. Borrow the courtesy car for a quick trip over to St. Charles.

The first Saturday of every month American Flyers (800-323-0808) holds a free seminar. You can earn Wings credit and get a free lunch. Pilots drive and fly in to attend. Give them a call or visit the website to learn more. At the last seminar I attended, they had 70 pilots show up! If you are flying in, ask the tower for a progressive over to American Flyers.
