Lake Lawn (C59)

It’s a bit bumpy landing at Lake Lawn. And watch out for the resort's water tower if you are landing on 36. Weeds pop up through the rarely used runway. Park wherever you like at this unattended field. Unless you want to jump the fence though, try to stay near the buidling which has a gate.

Just across the street is Lake Lawn Resort (www.lakelawnresort.com ; 800-338-5253). If you call they might pick you up, but it is a short walk to the main building. Walk straight out the airport driveway, across the street, and straight on to the resort. Stay the weekend or just stop in for a bite to eat. I recommend eating outside near the pool in the summer months. The Frontier Restaurant, also on premise, is a more elegant dining experience.

The resort offers a wide range of activities for your enjoyment. You can play a round of golf in the morning, cool off in the pool in the afternoon and finish the day with a massage at the spa. The resort is located right on Delavan Lake. Down at the resort's Boat House you can rent Kayaks, Pedal boats, Pontoons, and Speed Boats. The resort is also "kid friendly" making it a great family getaway.
