I ended up stopping here because the fuel was so cheap. What I discovered was a vibrant little airport looking to become a light sport mecca. Stop in at East Troy Aviation (262-642-5008) to fuel up and ask about the light sport training.
Flying over the field before I entered the pattern my co-pilot pointed out what he believed was a powered parachute. Knowing better, I turned away from the skydivers dropping through the clouds. Get on the radio frequency early and listen for any possible skydiving activity. Skydivers will be called "Jumpers" over the radio. Standard calls include: "Jumpers over East Troy in 5 minutes" or "Jumpers away over East Troy."
If you are up for your own adventure head over to Sky Knights (262-642-9494) located right on the field. They offer tandem, static line, and an Accelerated Freefall Program.
